Will the Chiefs try and trade for Deebo Samuel?

Now that Deebo Samuel has requested a trade out of San Francisco, could the Kansas City Chiefs come calling?

There’s a high alert to see if and when Deebo Samuel will get traded. When he officially put in his request to get sent out of San Francisco, multiple teams, including the Jets and Texans, have been linked to the speedster.

What about the Kansas City Chiefs? Fans would love to see Samuel catch balls from Patrick Mahomes. According to Josina Anderson, it doesn’t look like general manager Brett Veach is going to try and make this happen.

The Chiefs won’t pursue a blockbuster trade for Deebo Samuel

While everyone in Kansas City would love to see Samuel make plays for the offense, Anderson is reporting that the Chiefs are more focused on improving the roster in the NFL Draft. This makes sense, as there’s no question going to be a high price for Samuel.

It’s been a wild offseason for the Chiefs, with things of course being highlighted by trading Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins. The aerial attack isn’t going to look the same without ‘Cheetah’ on the field for Kansas City, but Mahomes is ready to keep things rocking.

Kansas City has already signed wideouts Juju Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling to try and improve things for 2022, and people in town are pumped to see what these two can do with Mahomes. The idea of Samuel landing with the Chiefs is no doubt fun, but no one should be holding their breath.

Kansas City’s focus is elsewhere. You never know, though, and the team could change its mind at the last second. This Samuel situation is 100 percent going to be something to monitor leading up to NFL Draft night.
