What Dak Prescott’s teammates said about Cowboys return

Here is what Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott’s teammates had to say following the news that he was returning from injury in Week 7.

Once quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a right thumb fracture, the Dallas Cowboys did their part in winning games in his absence. Four out of five games to be exact. But this week, head coach Mike McCarthy revealed that Prescott was medically cleared to play in the team’s Week 7 game against the Detroit Lions.

In case fans needed further confirmation, Prescott himself said to the media on Thursday that he will be starting this Sunday, and he will not be wearing a brace on his right thumb.

One of Prescott’s primary targets in the passing game, CeeDee Lamb, was asked how Prescott looked during his first practice since suffering his thumb injury. The answer was simple, Lamb told the media in attendance that “he’s back.”

In Prescotts’ absence, the Cowboys leaned upon backup Cooper Rush, who more than held his own. Rush won four straight games since Prescott’s injury in Week 1 before losing this past weekend against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.

Rush completed 57.7-percent of his passes for 1,020 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in six games this season (five starts).

The Cowboys will look to get back in the win column in Week 7 to help them gain ground in what has become an strong and competitive NFC East division.
