Green Bay Packers fans are going to be furious when they see what Emmanuel Acho had to say about the team and Aaron Rodgers.
When his career is all said and done, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will go down as one of the best players the NFL has ever seen. He’ll also have a statue ready to be built for him down the road outside of Lambeau Field. But, have Rodgers’ accomplishments not been enough?
If you ask former NFL linebacker and current FS1 analyst Emmanuel Acho, the Packers have completely wasted Rodgers career in Wisconsin. Wait, what?
Emmanuel Acho believes the Packers have wasted Aaron Rodgers’ incredible career
Where to even begin with this? Acho argues that in his 13 years as the team’s starter, Rodgers has only been given an elite, top-5 defense once. That same season, Green Bay went on to win its lone Super Bowl with Rodgers running the offense. That came back in 2011.
Adding to his point, Acho pointed out that 62 receivers have been selected in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft in the last five years, with the Packers not recording one of those picks. No one has forgotten about the team taking Jordan Love with their first-round pick last season either.
While Acho makes strong points and backs them up, to say that the Packers have wasted Rodgers’ career is absurd. They have the Super Bowl win, Rodgers has three NFL MVPs to his name and so much more. The way this team is built, Green Bay is expected to compete for a trip to the Super Bowl next season as well.
Once Rodgers does retire, we can circle back on this and analyze things more. However, right now, Acho just seems way off-base with this hot take.
