Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles stayed busy on Wednesday, signing two players to new deals with the team.
While Philadelphia Eagles fans have grown frustrated with Howie Roseman in recent years, there’s no denying he’s been working overtime this offseason in making some key moves. Such was the case on Wednesday, with Roseman agreeing to new contracts with two players.
Those guys who will be suiting up for the Eagles come the start of the 2021 campaign are running back Jordan Howard and former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Eric Wilson. Both Howard and Wilson are signing one-year deals with Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Eagles have signed Jordan Howard and Eric Wilson to one-year deals
Howard is of course no stranger to Philadelphia, as he signed with the team in 2019. That campaign, Howard appeared in 10 games, making four starts, and recorded 525 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He returned to Philly in 2020 for two games, seeing limited action. Now he’s all set to return in 2021.
As for Wilson, the inside linebacker had spent the past four seasons with the Vikings. He’s coming off a strong 2020 for Minnesota, as the 6-foot-1, 230-pounder posted a head-turning 122 total tackles and three sacks. Now, the fifth-year player will hope to make a strong impact for the Eagles defense and potentially land himself a bigger deal come next offseason.
The past few months have featured plenty of changes for Philadelphia, as the team fired former head coach Doug Pederson, hired Nick Sirianni to replace him and traded former first-round pick Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts.
Come next season, Eagles fans are hoping the team can make some major improvements on the field and potentially take home the NFC East crown. All eyes will be on Sirianni to see what he can do in his first campaign in charge.
