Patrick Mahomes laid to rest any concerns about his foot in his latest offseason workout video.
Kansas City Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes looks good as new, as he was spotted running around and having fun in his latest workout.
Mahomes had offseason foot surgery to fix some turf toe shortly after losing Super Bowl 55 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was wearing a walking boot during Easter weekend, but did not need it to go golfing with tight end Travis Kelce. While some in Chiefs Kingdom may be holding their breath after watching him take part in this agility drill, he sure looks like he is having a blast.
Mahomes should be good as new under center for the Chiefs come Week 1 after having surgery.
Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes looks to be ready for Week 1 action
The Chiefs are the favorite to win the AFC for the third year in a row. While they might be the favorites to win Super Bowl 56 over in Los Angeles, there are several other high-quality teams across the league who will be formidable challengers for them along the way. As long as Mahomes is upright and is playing at a high level, the Chiefs will win 12-to-14 games annually.
What is important to understand is this is not Mahomes’ first injury in Kansas City uniform. He missed a handful of games two years ago with a dislocated kneecap. He had also been dealing with a nagging ankle injury prior to nearly being lost for the season two years ago. Mahomes looks healthy now, but the Chiefs do not want him to suffer a fourth leg injury over three NFL seasons.
For now, the Chiefs can feel good about Mahomes being at 100 percent heading into fall camp.
