Josh Allen contract details are rolling in and the Bills have made their quarterback the richest man in football next to Patrick Mahomes.
The Buffalo Bills have backed up the Brinks truck for their superstar quarterback Josh Allen.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported the Bills and Allen have agreed to a six-year contract extension that will keep him in Buffalo uniform though the 2027 NFL season. His ESPN colleague Adam Schefter reported that it will be a six-year deal worth $258 million, with $150 million of that being fully guaranteed.
This will be Allen’s fourth season after being drafted out of Wyoming in 2018.
After a breakout season in Buffalo last year, the Bills have seen enough to pay Allen handsomely.

The Bills have long been looking for the heir apparent to Jim Kelly under center. It took nearly a quarter of a century, but the Bills have clearly found their guy in Allen. While he was a bit of a project quarterback coming out of Wyoming, he has been undeniably one of the best quarterbacks in his draft class. He has ascended to an MVP level playing in Brian Daboll’s passing offense.
That is really the big question here: What happens to Allen once Daboll becomes an NFL head coach in 2022? He is the top head-coaching candidate for next cycle. Daboll could have been the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, the New York Jets and the Philadelphia Eagles. Instead, he looks to work with his star quarterback for one more year with a Super Bowl berth in mind.
By investing in Allen early, the Bills are hoping he is the piece that gets them to the Super Bowl.
