Twitter was on fire after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off a clutch 31-29 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
The NFL could not have asked for a better game to kick off the 2021 season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers began their Super Bowl repeat tour on Thursday night as they hosted the Dallas Cowboys and the returning Dak Prescott. While there were many that predicted that the Bucs would defeat the Cowboys easily, that was not the case, as it went down to the wire.
With a little over a minute remaining, Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein made a field goal to give Dallas a late 29-28 lead. That as the good news. The bad news was they gave quarterback Tom Brady plenty of time to march down field, allowing Ryan Succop to kick a game-winning 36-yard field goal to win the game 31-29.
Once the game clock struck zero, Twitter users shared their thoughts on Tampa Bay’s season-opening victory over the Cowboys.

Brady did not look like a 44-year-old quarterback starting under center. Instead, he looked as though he was still in his prime. On the night, Brady completed 32-of-50 pass attempts for 379 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions.
Prescott made his return to the field for the first time since he suffered a season-ending ankle injury last year. Even though he did deal with a shoulder injury throughout training camp, the Cowboys starter was on fire throughout the game. Prescott had 42 completions for 403 yards, three touchdowns and one interception on 58 attempts.
Things could have gone completely differently for the Cowboys, especially with the two missed field goals by Zuerlein earlier in the game. However, they can hold their heads up high, as they gave the defending champions a fight. The Cowboys will look to get their first win of the season next week when they face Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers.
As for the Buccaneers, they will once again play at Raymond James Stadium next week when they host the rival Atlanta Falcons.
BuccanLadies and gentlemen, football is back and it’s better than ever.
