It’s standard practice for players to come off the field and fans to get under cover when lightning threatens. The big question now is how long the delay will last.
Why is Bills game delayed?

Chiefs game delayed: When is second half kickoff?
The NBC broadcast team revealed the game will be restarted at 10:30 p.m. ET at the earliest. That depends on the lightning threat clearing away. Otherwise, the game will be delayed further.
Both teams will have to adjust to the unusual circumstances.
For the Chiefs, that may be a good thing as they struggle to contain the Bills in the first half. While they had some success on offense, they weren’t able to match their opponents.
