The Los Angeles Rams can go toe-to-toe with just about anyone now that they’ve added Von Miller to their stellar defensive depth chart.
The Rams made the biggest splash on the trade market so far this season by grabbing Von Miller from the Broncos.
The All-Pro linebacker is heading to Los Angeles in exchange for Day 2 draft picks.
The moment he arrives, he’ll raise expectations for the Rams to new heights.
How the Von Miller trade impacts the Rams depth chart
The Rams already had a ferocious pass rush and a formidable defensive front with Aaron Donald, Sebastian Joseph-Day and Leonard Floyd on the field.
That front just got even scarier with Miller added to the mix.
DE: A’Shawn Robinson | Jonah Williams
NT: Sebastian Joseph-Day | Greg Gaines
DT: Aaron Donald | Michael Hoecht
OLB: Von Miller | Terrell Lewis
OLB: Leonard Floyd | Chris Garrett
Of course, Miller coming in means someone will have to give way. The likeliest defender to lose snaps because of this trade is Terrell Lewis.
Lewis has been playing well this season. It’s a tough break for him in terms of playing time. However, it could be a plus in the long run for the 2020 third-rounder to learn behind one of the best defenders in the game over the past decade.
Others will benefit as well. Jamir Jones and Chris Garrett can learn from the best.
For the Rams, it’s a dream. They’ll get to spell Miller with guys like Lewis and Ogbonnia Okoronkwo. That kind of depth could have a serious impact in the postseason.
Miller’s presence will also make life a whole lot easier for guys like Donald and Floyd. The latter in particular should get plenty of opportunities with offenses having to account for Donald and Miller.
