T.J. Watt apparently suffered two injuries on the same play as the Pittsburgh Steelers struggled against the Detroit Lions Sunday.
Sunday didn’t exactly go the way the Pittsburgh Steelers were hoping for. In a tie against the winless Detroit Lions, linebacker T.J. Watt went down with an injury. Now there’s a good chance that Watt may miss a bit of time.
According to an update shared by ProFootballTalk after the game, Watt is now dealing with two injuries: one to his knee and another to his hip. According to the update, Watt will have scans done in the morning to determine the extent of the injuries.
Apparently the two injuries happened on the same play.
T.J. Watt injury update: Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker suffers hip, knee injuries against Detroit Lions
It’s never good to suffer any number of injuries at the same time, but suffering two during the same play is pretty bad. And now we wait to find out the extent of how this will impact Watt.
Who knows how long Watt will be out, but the Steelers would probably be wise to make sure he’s fully healed before ever entertaining the thought of playing him. Watt is a star and the Steelers don’t appear to truly be a playoff threat this season. Let Watt, and any other injured player on that roster, rest and recover.
