Seattle Seahawks fans have gotten their wish, as standout safety Quandre Diggs is returning to Lumen Field on a three-year deal.
While the news of Russell Wilson getting traded and Bobby Wagner being released has caused plenty of heartache for Seattle Seahawks fans, some good news has arrived. That news is that safety Quandre Diggs will be back in action for Pete Carroll next season.
On Monday, Ian Rapoport has reported the Seahawks and Diggs have agree to a three-year deal worth $40 million. With this, one of the key defensive playmakers for the Hawks isn’t going anywhere.
Quandre Diggs returning to Seattle is huge for John Schneider
Seahawks general manager John Schneider isn’t a popular man in Seattle right now thanks to the Wilson and Wagner moves, but the Diggs deal will get plenty of people off his back. A quick look at Twitter shows Seahawks supporters are jacked up, while fans elsewhere don’t understand the move.

Diggs’ 2021 season ended in heartbreaking fashion, as he suffered a dislocated ankle and broken fibula in the Week 18 win over the Cardinals. As soon as Diggs went down to the turf, he was seen in an incredible amount of pain. He underwent surgery soon after and his future with Seattle was uncertain.
Fortunately, Diggs has been making strong progress in his recovery and he should be ready to rock for Week 1 this fall. As soon as he gets ready to take the field, he won’t have to worry about his contract, as he’s locked in for three more years.
Several teams were hoping to try and land Diggs this offseason, but Schneider beat others to the punch in this case. Diggs will be ready to ball out for Seattle, a place he has said multiple times he loves calling home.
