Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski kept the door open for a potential reunion with free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The Browns coach came away impressed with how OBJ handled himself in the aftermath of leaving Cleveland, even winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.
It would be an overwhelming surprise if Beckham Jr. went back to the Browns, especially considering he asked to leave Cleveland on his own validity. Beckham’s relationship with soon-to-be former quarterback Baker Mayfield was called into question as well.
But with a new QB in town in Deshaun Watson, and Beckham Jr. likely affordable due to a devastating knee injury, the Browns would be willing to take on the challenge of repairing old wounds, per Stefanski.
“I really like Odell. We’ll see how it all plays out,” Stefanski said, per Mary Kay Cabot.
Could Odell Beckham Jr. return to Browns?
According to Cleveland.com, Odell is open to the possibility of joining Watson in Cleveland. Surely, he’d have a different answer if Mayfield were still under center, but Baker has since demanded a trade and is on his way to a new quarterback-needy team at some point in the near future.
One of Beckham Jr.’s close friends on the team, John Johnson, also recently stated that he believes Odell could come back to the Browns.
Beckham Jr. and his father caused all sorts of drama on his way out of Cleveland in the first place. The fact the Browns organization is open and willing to forget about all of that speaks wonders to a short memory, and perhaps a soap opera that was always meant to end this way.
