In an interview with FanSided, new Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant says that revenge games are real, and that he wants to prove the Denver Broncos wrong for trading him.
There have been some eventful trades to take place during the NFL offseason. One of the first was the deal that saw Seattle Seahawks trade quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Part of the return for Seattle was tight end Noah Fant, the former 20th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. It will not take long for Fant to play his former team, because that will take place in Week 1 on Sept. 12.
In an interview with FanSided’s “Stacking the Box” podcast, Fant spoke about the trade, and the early revenge game that drafted him. He said that he wants to ultimately prove the Broncos they were wrong for moving on from him.

Noah Fant wants to prove Broncos were wrong to trade him
“Obviously I want to have a really good game,” said Fant. “I want to beat them, I want to be able to hold that over my former teammates and really close friends that I have on the Broncos, I’ll hold that over their head. I’m looking forward to that game. I get to compete against guys that I know, guys that I love that are my brothers, and hopefully be able to make a statement and be able to say ‘Hey, you should have kept me,’ or something like that.”
This offseason, the Broncos were hellbent on bringing in a top quarterback option after failing to find one after Peyton Manning’s retirement following Super Bowl 50. Sure enough, the team made an offer that Seattle liked, and agreed to the trade.
Besides Fant, the Seahawks also received quarterback Drew Lock and defensive lineman Shelby Harris in the deal. Not only that, but they received two first-round picks (2022 and 2023), two second-round picks (2022 and 2023) and a 2022 fifth-round pick.
Fant was one of the top prospects eligible for the NFL Draft coming out of the Iowa Hawkeyes football program in 2019, and the Broncos drafted him following a trade-down with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first-round. Since joining the team, he started in nearly every game for Denver.
Through 47 games (41 starts), Fant caught 170-of-249 targets for 1,905 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Fant will be ready to take on his former team in opening week of the 2022 season. The question that remains is who will be the starting quarterback. Will it be Lock, Geno Smith or potentially another option? We will find out once the season approaches.
