Super Bowl LVII MVP odds: Patrick Mahomes favored ahead of postseason

If you want to get ahead of the Super Bowl MVP market you can bet it weeks before the big game, as soon as today.

The Super Bowl MVP market is, as usual, dominated by quarterbacks, but just last year we saw Cooper Kupp take home the honors so it’s not cut and dry. With that being said, the top five choices are quarterbacks, led by Patrick Mahomes, as well as six of the top seven.

It makes sense that Mahomes would be at the top of the odds board with the Chiefs listed as  favorites. It follows suit for the other teams, including Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen and Joe Burrow following Mahomes.

Christian McCaffrey is the first non quarterback at +1400. This makes sense with the 49ers leaning on their skill position players to help out undrafted rookie quarterback Brock Purdy, who is +900.

While quarterbacks typically dominate the award, they have won 31 of 57 Super Bowl MVP’s, the way to bet this market now may be angling for skill position players of teams you believe can make a run to the Super Bowl. While those players may not win in the long run, it gives you a bet that ages well and can allow you to add other players on the same team to corner the market.

For example, George Kittle is +8000 and Deebo Samuel is +3000 but those two can play a role in the Niners potential Super Bowl run. Another one is Justin Jefferson, who is +10000. While the Vikings may not be a likely Super Bowl entrant, if you believe you should angle these long shots ahead of the postseason.

Shop around, and see if you can catch a long shot ahead of a Super Bowl run.
