Mike Zimmer has clearly grown frustrated with the play of his team, with him showing his anger at a reporter for pointing out how bad the defense has been in 2020.
Things have gotten off to a horrible start for Mike Zimmer and the Minnesota Vikings. The team entered the campaign with some high hopes, but they’ve sputtered to an 0-3 start. It’s the exact opposite of what fans were hoping to see.
You can tell Zimmer has grown frustrated with his team’s play, particularly the defense. That’s probably why he was so upset when a reporter pointed out to him just how much they’ve struggled during the first three games.
The Minnesota Vikings have given up an average of 34 points per game entering Week 4
As you can see in the video above, Zimmer wasn’t pleased at all when a reporter pointed out to him that the defense has given up 102 points in the first three games of the season, the worst start defensively in team history.
“If you have a question, just ask it,” Zimmer fired back. “You don’t have to give me your opinion on anything.”
You’ve got to almost feel for Zimmer at this point. His defense truly has been a nightmare, as they’ve given up 43 points to the Packers, 28 points to the Colts and 31 points to the Titans in their most recent Week 3 defeat. The team’s rough play has them in dead last of the NFC North standings. They’ll head to Houston this week to try and earn their first win of the year and then follow that up with a road meeting at Seattle.
Imagine Russell Wilson going up against Minnesota’s defense right now. As frustrated as Zimmer is now, things could only end up getting worse for him in the coming weeks.
