The Cowboys have another defensive lineman on the COVID list this week.
The Dallas Cowboys are getting a nice week off after a rough 2-7 start to the season. Last week did provide some hope with Garrett Gilbert at quarterback and a chance to rest could allow the team to jump back into contention in the painfully weak NFC East.
News came out earlier this week that defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford was added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list. Walter Palmore has also reportedly been added as well. The hope now is that there is no outbreak about to take place.
Cowboys add another player to COVID list
2020 is a unique season and there are protocols in place to prevent players from being in close contact while off the field. The fact the Cowboys are on the bye should mean Palmore is not around all of his teammates, if he even has the virus in general.
Being overly cautious is the best move and the Cowboys truly can’t afford any more losses on the roster. Of course, the health and safety of players like Crawford and Palmore is the most important thing.
Palmore is a nose tackle for the franchise and has yet to appear in an NFL game. That is why some fans may have been confused with the news about who exactly hit the COVID list. However, we know how anyone in the facility with the virus can spread it so this still raises plenty of alarm.
The Cowboys do have the benefit of being off this week and can make sure everyone is getting negatives tests and that the facility is safe for everyone. The team returns next Sunday and then plays on Thanksgiving, so any disruptions could send Dallas into even more disarray after the bad start.
