In the season finale of HBO’s Hard Knocks with the Cleveland Browns, we get a handful of goodies to lead us into the new NFL season.
After four fun weeks, HBO’s Hard Knocks with the Cleveland Browns is coming to an end. As we usually get with the final episode of the season, this fifth episode of Hard Knocks will show the team’s final week of regular season preparation. This includes cutting down the roster.
There is more to this episode, however.
This episode featured a prominent player being released for an off-the-field issue — one we don’t often see in the NFL. Who was it, and why was he released?

Mychal Kendricks was indicted on federal charges of insider trading
Imagine having it all … and then having some more. Linebacker Mychal Kendricks was almost there. After winning the Super Bowl with Philadelphia in February, Kendricks wanted more fortune.
It goes back to 2013, though, where Kendricks linked up with Damilare Sonoiki, a former investment banker and recent Black-ish writer. Sonoiki relayed private information to Kendricks from 2013-2015 in exchange for $10,000 and Eagles tickets. Kendricks used that information to turn a brokerage account worth $80,000 into $1.2 million in a short time.
Like most, the Browns were surprised, too.
There wasn’t much said on the show by John Dorsey and Hue Jackson, but there wasn’t much to be said.
Kendricks was released by Cleveland, and he now faces jail time.
