Week 6, everybody, and it’s matchups time. We’re breezing through the season, I know that’s tough to hear and things are weird in the NFL. Blink and the Super Bowl will be here. I’m kidding! (But we’re seriously flying through the season so far)
Our weekly matchups pieces discuss the players that should benefit from their matchup and could be the defining factor in a win for you this week.
We’re diving straight in to quarterbacks who have great weeks lined up, receivers in big divisional matchups and the battle of the best the tight ends have to offer.
Let’s go!
No. 10 Aaron Rodgers vs. San Francisco
It’s been a rough start to the season for the Packers and things aren’t getting easier anytime soon. What they do benefit from is a matchup with the 49ers this week in a game they simply can’t lose as the division heats up.
The Packers have a step on the Bears with that win in week one but after frustrating losses to Washington and Detroit in two of their last three, things have to change in a hurry.
The 49ers pass defense has been touchdown-heavy to start, giving up 12 touchdowns through five weeks, only one behind Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay for worst in the league.
Aaron Rodgers start last Sunday in the loss to the Lions was nothing short of not great (Bob) but he rebounded in the near comeback with 442 yards and a trio of touchdowns and his highest QB rating since the opener.
