Sleepers, get your sleepers here. We’ve got guys off the bye, good offenses against bad defenses. You name it we’ve got it. Come one come all!
This week we’re hitting some old favorites. The best of album if you will and before you come at me and say a player isn’t a sleeper, let’s chat. A sleeper is not solely defined by the ability to grab them from the free agency heap and score a pair of touchdowns. That’s not how it works good sir or madam.
A sleeper is defined by a player you may pass over, a player you may stash or a player you wouldn’t expect to break out. We’ve got ten guys lined up this week who are either ready for a bounceback, are fresh off a bye, or who just plain might surprise you. So strap in, here we go.
No. 10 Adam Humphries vs Atlanta
The Buccaneers went on the bye at the right time. After getting shellacked in Chicago (perfect analogy for what happened, don’t @ me) and throwing Jameis in during the second half of the blowout, this team needed a breather.
After starting 2-0 and Fitzmagic abound, Tampa Bay came crashing back down to earth in the loss on MNF to the Steelers and then the 38-10 beat down at the hands of the Bears. Winston is back under center, much to some chagrin, and there is no more crucial time than the bye for him to get back fully acclimated with that offense.
Look at the offense they have and the Buccaneers should be dangerous. Especially this weekend. Atlanta has the most riddled secondary in the NFL by quite a margin and with the speed of Desean Jackson and the overall unreal talent of Mike Evans, Winston will find his targets.
One of his favorites a year ago? Adam Humphries. Humphries is a returner on the sleeper list and I think it’s the right time to call his name again. He did have six catches in the loss to Chicago. Keep an eye on him this week.
