We are approaching the part of the fantasy football season where a last-minute addition could provide a major boost to your lineup.
The fantasy football season is moving right along and several surprise players have emerged as big-time contributors. Over the past few weeks, we have seen players like Tyler Boyd step up and become a force in fantasy football.
This weeks breakout performers is a little different from previous lists. There are a few players who might only be available in a handful of leagues. However, some of them have had stretches where they were potential drop candidates.
The key will be getting your waiver wire claims in if one of these guys are available. They may also be options for you to sell high in a trade.
A lot of times these breakout candidates fail to build off of a strong performance. Just a few weeks ago Dallas Goedert had a massive game and has followed it up with little to no fantasy production. Finding the difference between a one-time surge and long-term success is tough.
Most of these situations depend on the make up of the team’s roster. For Goedert, he will always take a back seat to Zach Ertz. His situation became less favorable when Alshon Jeffery returned from an injury.
So much about finding success on the waiver wire comes down to taking the extra step in your research. Is a team giving this breakout performer a realistic shot at earning more touches? Or, was he an emergency fill in?
