Fantasy football owners looking to receive a boost at the running back position in Week 8 should consider starting these 10 sleepers.
Anyone who started Marlon Mack, James White, Latavius Murray, Dion Lewis, or Tarik Cohen in fantasy football last week reaped some serious rewards. All of those running backs scored over 20 fantasy points in standard leagues, with Mack and Lewis looking entrenched as feature backs for their AFC South squads.
Other running backs like Phillip Lindsay and Nick Chubb had encouraging performances and also seemed locked in as starters. The Cleveland Browns decision to trade Carlos Hyde to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a fifth-round pick ensures that Chubb won’t find himself on the sleepers list any longer. He’s far too talented for that. However, his teammate Duke Johnson, who is incredibly quick and a beast in the passing game, could be someone to watch in the future if given favorable matchups.
At the running back position, it’s all about the matchups, and savvy fantasy owners know that the best matchups are often when pass-catching backs face a team with slower linebackers or a defensive scheme that allows backs to rack up easy yardage underneath.
Let’s take a look at ten fantasy sleepers at the running back position for Week 8.
