Demaryius Thomas takes major shot at Broncos, Vance Joseph

Demaryius Thomas took on his former team four days after they traded him, and he had some words to say about them after the game.

Demaryius Thomas spent the first eight and a half seasons of his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, quietly becoming one of the most consistent wide receivers in the league. The best stretch of his career of course came when Peyton Manning was playing under center for the Broncos, but Thomas still deserves his share of credit.

From 2012-16, Thomas had at least 90 receptions, 1,083 receiving yards, and five touchdown receptions in each season during that span. That led Denver to give Thomas a nice five-year contract worth $70 million back in 2015. Since Manning retired, the Broncos have gone through a few quarterback changes, as well as a new head coach the last two seasons. This has negatively affected the production of Thomas, and has caused tension between him and the front office.

Involved in numerous trade rumors over the last two seasons, the Broncos finally pulled the trigger and dealt Thomas to the Houston Texans for a fourth-round pick. Ironically, the Texans were taking on the Broncos for their next game four days later, giving Thomas a chance to get revenge on his former team.

Thomas finished the day with three catches for 61 yards, and the Texans came away with a 19-17 win after the Broncos missed a 51-yard field goal attempt at the end of regulation. Thomas didn’t hold back after the game, and had a few words about his former team and former coach.

Houston has now won six straight games after they started the season 0-3, taking full control of the AFC South.

Denver on the other hand has now lost six of their last seven games, and their head coach Vance Joseph is reportedly on the hot seat. His seat is actually boiling at this point.
