New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans

Dion Lewis throws some serious shade at Patriots

Dion Lewis clearly hasn’t gotten over the fact that the Patriots decided to move on from him after last season.

The Tennessee Titans stunned the New England Patriots by handing them a 34-10 loss at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, and it seems like few people enjoyed the victory more than Dion Lewis.

Lewis is in his first season with the Titans on a shiny four-year, $20 million contract, after playing the previous three years in New England. Apparently, there’s no love lost with Lewis and his old organization.

Not only did Lewis throw some shade at the Patriots during his postgame interview, but he also took to Twitter to take yet another jab at his former team.

Lewis clearly hasn’t gotten over the breakup.

Following last season, Lewis and the Patriots parted ways, as Bill Belichick had no desire to shell out a lot of money to keep him around. This shouldn’t have come as a surprise to Lewis; Belichick never spends big money on any players, much less running backs. Over Belichick’s tenure with the Patriots, he has never paid premium money for a running back, including quality players such as LeGarrette Blount and Corey Dillon.

Nonetheless, Lewis took offense to being made expandable, and it became abundantly clear after his new team, the Titans, ramrodded the Patriots in Week 10 — a game in which Lewis had 20 carries for 57 yards.

If nothing else, at least Lewis got to enjoy kicking his former team in the rear end on Sunday, because there’s a decent chance that his Titans will be on the outside looking in while the Patriots are in the playoffs in January.
