A.J. Green injury could ruin your fantasy dreams

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green went down once again to injury on Sunday. This time it might mean the end for his season, and your fantasy team.

It has been a tough month for the Cincinnati Bengals and wide receiver A.J. Green. Not only have the Bengals lost their last three games after such a promising start to the season, but their star receiver has also been struggling to get back onto the field.

Things were starting to look up for the Bengals on Sunday with Green returning for his first action since October 28th. Unfortunately, the injury bug hit Green once again, and this time it doesn’t look like he’ll be back in 2018.

Early on in Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos, Green went down on a non-contact injury, immediately grabbing his foot, which led to him being carted off of the field. The talented receiver had missed the past month due to a toe injury, leading many to wonder if it had been re-aggravated on the play.

You can see a video of the moment Green went down below.

It has been a frustrating season for the 30-year-old, to say the least. Green has looked good in the previous eight games he had played in, catching 45 passes for 687 yards and six touchdowns, helping fantasy owners pull out wins consistently when he was healthy.

Unfortunately, fantasy owners will now likely be losing one of their top players for the entire season, and that’s a tough player to replace. For those fantasy owners with few options at wide receiver currently, John Ross could be a potential addition if still available in leagues.

Although very touchdown-dependent, Ross has seen his volume of targets skyrocket when Green has been out of the lineup. He’s got an extremely low floor, which is certainly a risk, but Ross has already hauled in  five TDs this year, and could continue to see an increase in targets, even if Jeff Driskel is the one throwing the ball.

This year has gone from bad to worse for Bengals fans. Hopefully Green can return and play at 100 percent in 2019.
