We are down to the final week of the regular season, which means we need to make this one count. There will be more betting opportunities in the future, but this is the last time to take advantage of the bad teams.
We’re finally here: the end. The NFL season has been crazy. We’ve made it to the last week, and we really don’t know who’s actually good. The New Orleans Saints look good in most weeks, but never really blow your mind. The Los Angeles Rams looked like the best team in the league for most of the season, but they lost two of their last three games. In Kansas City, the Chiefs looked like an unstoppable offense, until one day they just weren’t.
Never knowing who was really good or who was really bad made this one of the hardest years to bet in recent history. Not even the New England Patriots are a safe bet. In fact, they were 8-7 against the spread. It’s been a while since they’ve been that bad in Vegas.
This week, we made a correction after a bad picks week in Week 15. After going 5-10-1, we reversed that score. Getting back over .500 with one week to play in the regular season.
Last Week: 10-5-1
Season Record: 114-113-8
As usual, we get all of our lines from the Westgate Sportsbook.
New York Jets @ New England Patriots (-13.5)
The New York Jets have been surprisingly game the past few weeks since Sam Darnold returned from injury. The Jets QB did his best to keep his team in the game against the Green Bay Packers. However, he’s still playing with that Jets defense. The team will probably try to play one more for coach Todd Bowles, but it likely won’t be enough to pull out a win.
Now, we don’t need a win from the Jets here. We just need the Jets to be competitive. This is a lot of points to give the New England Patriots. The team’s offense hasn’t looked good enough, and now without Josh Gordon it looks downright pathetic at times. Tom Brady just doesn’t look the same. Plus, Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski look downright old.
This is just too many points. The Patriots beat the Jets by 14 on the road a few weeks ago, but that was with a better Patriots team. The Pats have something on the line, so they should win this game. However, they likely won’t win this by two touchdowns.
