Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill under investigation for alleged battery

Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is under investigation for an alleged battery, with the victim listed as a juvenile.

According to the Kansas City Star and confirmed by the Kansas City Chiefs, Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is under investigation for an alleged battery.

The police report from the Overland Park Police Department, dated Thursday, March 14, and obtained by the Star,  states that the victim of the alleged battery is a juvenile; Hill’s fiancee, Crystal Espinal, is named as “others involved.” Hill has not been charged with a crime.

In a statement to the Star, the Chiefs stated, “The club is aware of the investigation involving Tyreek Hill. We’re in the process of gathering information and have been in contact with the league and local authorities. We’ll have no further comment at this time.”

Hill plead guilty to domestic assault and battery in August 2015 following a December 2014 incident in which he was alleged to have punched and choked Espinal, who was then pregnant with their son. The incident resulted in Hill being dismissed from the Oklahoma State football team. After completing the requirements of his probation, Hill’s conviction was dismissed and expunged in August 2018. Espinal, according to the Star, is currently pregnant with twins.

The Chiefs drafted Hill in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
