5 teams that should trade for Jalen Ramsey

Publicly the Jaguars insist there’s no chance they’ll deal Jalen Ramsey this offseason, but these five teams should be placing calls to GM Dave Caldwell.

The Jaguars locker room featured a lot of drama last season and Jalen Ramsey created more than his fair share. That, combined with the fact that he’s going to demand a lucrative contract extension to return to re-sign with Jacksonville means he’s available for the right trade offer this offseason.

Sure, GM Dave Caldwell is telling the media that such a trade is impossible, but it doesn’t make sense for him to say anything else. Admitting that the franchise is willing to deal the team’s most talented player would really upset the fan base. Of course, it would also lower the potential package the Jaguars could receive for Ramsey in a trade.

At the very least, teams capable of contending for a Super Bowl title that need another cornerback should call the Jaguars and see what it might take to pry Ramsey away. The drama he can cause might upset a weak locker room, but there’s no question about his play on the field. Here are five teams that should call the Jaguars.

5. Detroit Lions

The Lions aren’t just one player away from becoming Super Bowl contenders, but they do have a notable vacancy at the cornerback position. Darius Slay is one of the best corners in football, but Teez Tabor has proven to be a pretty big liability on the other side.

It would be very interesting to see what sort of scheme head coach Matt Patricia would dial-up with both Pro Bowlers at his disposal. Detroit would still need to find some extra pass rushing help in the draft, but the acquisition of Ramsey would allow them to bring a lot more blitz packages to chase the opposing quarterback.
