After having a disappointing year in 2018, the Jacksonville Jaguars will look to rebound with a new quarterback and a last place schedule coming up.
One of the biggest surprises in the NFL in 2017, things did not go well for Jacksonville Jaguars’ fans in 2018. Despite racing out to a 3-1 start that included a massive win over the New England Patriots in Week 2, the Jaguars finished in last place in the AFC South, reverting back to their old ways of underachieving.
Here is who Jacksonville will be playing this year on its home and away schedules.
Week 1: vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Week 2: at Houston Texans
Week 3: vs. Tennessee Titans (Thurs.)
Week 4: at Denver Broncos
Week 5: at Carolina Panthers
Week 6: vs. New Orleans Saints
Week 7: at Cincinnati Bengals
Week 8: vs. New York Jets
Week 9: vs. Houston Texans (London)
Week 10: BYE
Week 11: at Indianapolis Colts
Week 12: at Tennessee Titans
Week 13: vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 14: vs. Los Angeles Chargers
Week 15: at Oakland Raiders
Week 16: at Atlanta Falcons
Week 17: vs. Indianapolis Colts
Injuries played a significant role in Jacksonville’s problems, but the big concern was severe regression from quarterback Blake Bortles. Bortles lost his job to Cody Kessler late in the year and was dumped after the season, setting up the Jaguars with a new signal caller.
That man is former Philadelphia Eagle Nick Foles, who comes to Jacksonville with plenty of credibility thanks to his MVP performance in Super Bowl LII and great play down the stretch in place of the injured Carson Wentz last season. The Jaguars have to hope that the steady presence of Foles, combined with a rugged defense and talented running game headlined by Leonard Fournette, will help them get back to the top of a tight AFC South division.
Given how poorly things went for Jacksonville a year ago, don’t be shocked if they aren’t featured prominently in nationally televised games. The Jaguars were flexed out of their one Sunday Night game a year ago, and now they will look to play their way into prime time this season.
When the Jaguars’ schedule is announced, we will update this post immediately.
