The Los Angeles Chargers were one of the better teams in the AFC last season, and they could be right back in the mix for a conference title in 2019.
During the 2018 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Chargers got an absolute steal in the first round, as they grabbed star safety Derwin James with the No. 17 overall pick. James would go on to be named an All-Pro in his first season in the NFL, and helped reinvent a solid Chargers secondary last season.
On the offensive side of the ball, Los Angeles has one of the better quarterbacks in the conference under center, as Philip Rivers has refused to age so far in his NFL career. He continues to put up big numbers for the Chargers, and with solid talent on both sides of the ball, he could be in for another solid season in 2019.
When the Chargers schedule is announced, we will update immediately.
In the meantime, here is who Los Angeles will be playing this year on its home and away schedules:
HOME: Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans
AWAY: Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans
The AFC West is going to be an exciting division in 2019, and the Chargers and Chiefs are the clear leaders going into the draft. Los Angeles was a playoff team last season, but as they look at their 2019 schedule on paper, they seem to have an easy road, as they play only four teams that made the playoffs last season.
Los Angeles tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the best record in the AFC last season at 12-4, and they could once again be in the mix for that title in 2019. The Chargers ended their season with a loss in the Divisional Round, but with the talent they have brought in this offseason, they could finally get to a Super Bowl next season.
