Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes is the beating heart of the Kansas City Chiefs organization, and he recently took time out of his day to make a surprise visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Patrick Mahomes is everything NFL teams look for in a franchise quarterback – and then some. As a passer, Mahomes has truly broken the mold, aggressively taken shots downfield as he quickly dissects defenses with the processing speed of a high-powered computer.
His unorthodox sidearm deliveries, off-hand throws, and no-look passes add even more layers to an impenetrable game that has allowed him to produce video-game numbers.
And off the field, Mahomes is, by all accounts, a natural-born leader and an incredible person. Mahomes took some time out of his Friday to make a surprise visit to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, signing autographs for patients and posing for photos.
It’s incredible to see the joy Mahomes brought to these children as he took the time to make their days brighter. Any bit of joy brought to a patient can make a difference, so it was heart-warming to see this visit from Mahomes.
An exemplary representative of the Kansas City Chiefs organization, which hasn’t always employed players who impact their communities positively, Mahomes is a breath of fresh air in the many ways.
The Madden 20 cover star will gear up for another possible 50-touchdown season with more gaudy statistics on the way. But for Mahomes, the primary focus will be on winning a Super Bowl title for the Chiefs after coming agonizingly close in 2018-2019.
Of course, paramount to that is helping those around him, and fans can expect to see more uplifting moments from Mahomes. His importance to Kansas City, as FanSided’s Matt Verderame wrote in November, transcends football. He means everything to this city, and he’s more than embraced everything that entails.
