The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the more interesting teams heading in to the 2020 NFL Draft. With six picks but no first-rounder, how will they improve their team?

Without a doubt, the biggest deficiency in the 2019 manifestation of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the absence of their All-Pro quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. In theory, that issue will be resolved with Big Ben returning to the lineup for 2020. Still, that may not preclude the team from taking a quarterback in the draft.

Beyond that need, the team is also in need of an edge rusher, wide receiver, defensive tackle (with the now departed Javon Hargrave), interior offensive lineman (even with the signing of Steve Wisniewski to replace the depart B.J. Finney).

After shipping their first-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for Minkah Fitzpatrick, we won’t hear from Pittsburgh until the middle of the second round. Because of that, Steelers fans should brace themselves for a utility draft with few reaches and few flashy names.

With that in mind, it is a great draft to be looking for a wide receiver, and it should not be surprising to see them pursue that avenue at some point in the first three rounds. Otherwise, Pittsburgh could go in so many directions here, so it is very much anybody’s guess.
