NFL Mock Draft, Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds

The Philadelphia Eagles are in the market for an upgrade at wide receiver. Is the first round the perfect spot to land a weapon for Carson Wentz?

The injury bug was not kind to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2019. In fact, at times it seemed like the bug had felt comfortable enough to rearrange furniture and hang family photos on the walls of the team facility.

But 2020 is a new year and with it comes the hopes of evicting that aforementioned bug.

It’s no secret that Philadelphia needs talent at wide receiver and just so happens to be heading into the perfect draft to find some. Where does Philly turn to give Carson Wentz more offensive weapons to work with? Let’s find out in this seven-round Eagles mock.

And remember, your favorite team has never made a pick you didn’t agree with, so why start now?

1st round

Justin Jefferson

WR, Tigers

Philadelphia is well aware that it can’t head into a future playoff game with a former quarterback as its No. 1 wide receiver. Names like Henry Ruggs III, Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb could very well be off the board at this point, so the Eagles instead turn to LSU standout Justin Jefferson.

Jefferson is one of my favorite prospects in this class and seems to be a lock for the first round. His speed was on display at the NFL Draft Combine when he posted a 4.43 40-yard dash, but the most fun element of his game is his contested catch ability and massive catch radius.

Jefferson is the guy who can bail out your quarterback on a bad throw multiple times over the course of a game and shows enough elusiveness in the open field once the ball is in his hands.

The Eagles’ need to add reliable targets for Carson Wentz is one of the draft’s worst-kept secrets and they’re off to a good start in this mock with the selection of Jefferson.
