Buffalo Bills 2020 schedule release: Games, dates and times

The Buffalo Bills are hoping to win the AFC East now that Tom Brady is gone, and they have a chance to do that despite a challenging schedule.

It is time for a changing of the guard in the AFC East now that Tom Brady is no longer a member of the New England Patriots. Brady’s departure for Tampa Bay opens up the division for the other three teams, but the one closest to New England right now is the Buffalo Bills.

After floundering for nearly 15 years, the Bills are back, having reached the postseason in two of the last three years. Young quarterback Josh Allen has shown the potential to become a franchise-level talent and the Bills have done a nice job supporting him with a good offensive line as well as weapons.

The latest step the Bills took towards contention was trading for Stefon Diggs, giving Allen a true go-to guy who can make explosive plays. The deal cost Buffalo its first-round pick in this draft along with three other selections, but getting Diggs in his prime was well worth the acquisition cost.

The Bills nearly won the division last season and could have played for the AFC East title in Week 17 if they had found a way to win in Foxborough on the Saturday before Christmas. That didn’t happen, leaving Buffalo in the Wild Card round, where they blew a 16-0 lead to lose to the Houston Texans in overtime.

Winning the division is the Bills’ goal, but doing it won’t be easy against a tough schedule. Matchups against the Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, and Pittsburgh Steelers are among the difficult opponents Buffalo will have to deal with in 2020.
