Stefon Diggs could be the ultimate addition for the Buffalo Bills

Stefon Diggs provides a big production boost to the Bills receiving core for the 2020 season.

Stefon Diggs is looking to bring the heat in Buffalo and will be a welcome addition to the Bills offense. He was acquired via trade from the Minnesota Vikings in a deal that allowed Diggs’ former team to draft LSU standout Justin Jefferson, Temple’s Harrison Hand, and Miami’s K.J. Osborn. The Vikings will also receive a fourth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft as well.

In Diggs’ final season with the Vikings, he caught 63 passes for 1,130 yards (17.9 yards after catch) and six touchdowns. That was his second consecutive 1,000-yard season.

Other highlights of his Vikings career include scoring the 61-yard game-winning touchdown against the New Orleans Saints in the 2017 NFC Divisional Playoff game. He along with Adam Thielen became the second-pair of Vikings wideouts to reach 1,000 yards in the same season since 2000 when Randy Moss and Cris Carter. Diggs also became the fastest Vikings receiver to reach 200 catches in only his 40th game which bested Moss and Percy Harvin.

Stefon Diggs will be joining a Bills wide receiver group that was led by John Brown and Cole Beasley last season. They recorded 139 catches, 1,838 yards, and 12 touchdowns combined. With the addition of Diggs, the Bills could become the best wide receiving core in the AFC East. Now that Tom Brady’s not on the Patriots anymore, who’s to say, the Bills can’t win the division in 2020?

Diggs will provide another deep threat to Josh Allen’s disposal. Allen threw for 3,000 yards and 20 touchdowns last season but he was sacked 38 times. The Bills didn’t draft any offensive linemen this year, but they picked up undrafted free agents Marquel Harrell, Ryan Bates, and Trey Adams.

Diggs has the ability to become the Bills’ best offensive weapon and create matchup problems given the presence of both Brown and Beasley.
