Patrick Mahomes has been signing autographs for a while now.
When it comes to collector items, this may be the cream of the crop. We all know that Pat Mahomes Sr. was an MLB player who had stints with the Twins, Red Sox, Mets, Rangers, Cubs and Pirates. Apparently, the future MVP would sign autographs as a child with his father.
Texas Rangers fan Delaine Head has one of said signatures, from when he was only six years old. Head recalls asking Mahomes Sr. for an autograph and because his son was with him, she asked him as well. If only she knew who that kid would turn out to be one day.
Mahomes saw Head’s story on Twitter and said that he remembered signing autographs with his father. However, this wasn’t Mahomes’ first autograph, as he remembers doing it before he joined the Rangers.
Where is the first Patrick Mahomes signature?
Who knows how many baby Mahomes signatures are out there? Maybe some Mets fans should start digging through their attics, as they might be sitting on a gold mine!
This July, Mahomes became America’s highest-paid athlete. He signed a 10-year, $503 million deal with the Chiefs after leading them to a Super Bowl this season.
Today, any Mahomes signature is a collector’s item, considering the immense success he’s seen in his short NFL career. In only two full seasons, Mahomes has already won a Super Bowl and an MVP. He’s definitely not known as Pat Mahomes Sr.’s son anymore.
