Jerry Jeudy already putting on a show at Denver Broncos camp (Video)

Denver Broncos’ first-round selection Jerry Jeudy is shining in training camp.

Last year, the Denver Broncos got their quarterback in Drew Lock. In his limited action last season, he looked pretty impressive. the goal this offseason, as is the case with any quarterback on his rookie deal, was to give him some much-needed weapons. The Broncos did just that in the first round of this year’s NFL Draft after stud Alabama wideout Jerry Jeudy shockingly dropped to them with the 15th overall pick.

Flash forward a couple of months later, Jeudy is already turning heads in training camp. He mostly worked with the second-team, but on the handful of first-team reps, Jeudy impressed. In fact, Denver starting safety said that he’s never seen a receiver get in and out of his breaks better than the rookie.

That’s quite the glowing endorsement for Jeudy.

Jeudy destined to make an immediate impact in Year 1

As stated in the Broncos’ official video, Jeudy had tremendous separation on nearly every snap he played and managed to haul in passes that were overthrown. This is a guy that the Broncos offense desperately needed to compete with the explosive Kansas City Chiefs offense in the AFC West.

Through his three years at Alabama, Jeudy was the Crimson Tide’s undisputed top receiver in the corps. Jeudy managed to record 159 receptions for 2,742 yards and 26 touchdowns. In fact, Jeudy was one of the better separation receivers in all of college football. Since 2018, Jeudy has had 26 targets with a step or more of separation 20-plus yards downfield, per Pro Football Focus. The only receiver who had more is Tutu Atwell of Louisville (27).

That statistic alone should bring a smile to Lock’s face. This is a quarterback who can throw rockets downfield effortlessly, and it certainly helps to have a wideout like Jeudy who can retrieve said passes.

Jeudy’s already showing that he’s a perennial favorite to win the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. Keep your eyes peeled on him this season, because he has all the makings of being the league’s next top receiver.
