Veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp is set to receive a big-time payday from the Los Angeles Rams.
For the Los Angeles Rams, wide receiver Cooper Kupp has proven time and time again that he’s one of the most reliable options for star quarterback Jared Goff. Now, the LA front office is set to reward Kupp for his strong play.
According to multiple reports, the Rams and Kupp have agreed to a three-year extension. There had been talks in recent weeks about things getting finalized, and now Kupp, a Washington native, is all set to put the pen to paper to make things official.
Cooper Kupp is coming off a career-best season for the Los Angeles Rams
A standout wide receiver for Eastern Washington, Kupp was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft in 2017. He’s been a stud for the Rams ever since, posting 196 receptions for 2,596 yards and 21 touchdowns since he arrived to southern California.
Last season, Kupp put up some ridiculous stats, hauling in 94 balls from Goff for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns, all career highs. Entering 2020, Kupp is once again expected to play a massive role for the Rams’ offense, with management deciding to reward him with a new contract just a day before the team’s season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys.
With his new contract, expectations of course will be high for Kupp and the rest of the LA offense. Head coach Sean McVay and the rest of the coaching staff will be looking to wipe away the tough memories from 2019, where the squad finished in third place of the NFC West standings and missed out on the playoffs one year after losing to the Patriots in the Super Bowl.
Moving forward, though, there’s excitement surrounding the team, and now Kupp can play with the confidence knowing he’ll be a playmaker for the Rams through the 2023 season.
