The Sunday Night Football game between the Cowboys and Rams could be at risk due to the fires in California.
Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams fans are counting down the minutes until both team’s season-opener on Sunday night. However, there’s a chance we don’t get to see Dak Prescott and Jared Goff lead their offenses out onto the field.
Due to the poor air quality in Los Angeles right now from the fires, reports from the area state the game could be at risk if the conditions continue to get worse leading up to kickoff. The air quality is poor right now, making it unsafe for the players to potentially get things going on Sunday night.
It goes without saying, but it’d be a major bummer if things were to be postponed. The NFL also has to keep everyone’s safety in mind.
Both the Cowboys and Rams are looking to get back to the playoffs this season
As things stand, both the Cowboys and Rams are hopeful things will be okay and they can suit up on Sunday, but there are backup plans being considered. This includes potentially moving the game to either Monday or Tuesday. At this point, it will be a wait and see for fans to see when exactly their favorite teams will be taking the gridiron.
For both the Cowboys and Rams, they’re hoping to bounce back in 2020 after a disappointing campaign. Dallas had Super Bowl hopes, but missed out on the playoffs and watched the Eagles take home the NFC East crown. Meanwhile for LA, they had a Super Bowl hangover, going 9-7 and finishing in third place in the NFC West, watching both the 49ers and Seahawks make the postseason.
With both looking to get the season started on the right foot, we’ll find out soon enough when this anticipated showdown will take place.
