Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers had another huge day on offense.
Aaron Rodgers was immediately put on the clock with the Green Bay Packers the second the team drafted Jordan Love in the 2020 NFL Draft. Would the team look to move on from Rodgers right away? Even mentioning such a possibility is ridiculous given the way he has started the 2020 season.
Rodgers and the Packers put up 37 points Sunday night in an impressive win over the New Orleans Saints. He threw for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and once again went without an interception. The veteran is playing out of his mind and the Packers look like one of the best teams in all of football.
The Aaron Rodgers revenge tour continues
Love continues to be shown on the sidelines during Packers games. However, all the focus is on how great Rodgers is playing. His rating has been above 107 in his three games and his nine touchdowns have helped the Packers score at least 37 points in every game this season.
Next up is an Atlanta Falcons team that got picked apart by Nick Foles in yet another collapse Sunday. Rodgers taking on the Falcons at Lambeau may be an unwatchable sight for Falcons fans.
One crazy thing about the Packers drafting Love was it came after Rodgers led the team to the NFC Championship Game. Drafting a receiver would have helped the team win now, or at least that problem seemed glaring before the season began.
The Packers were even without Davante Adams in New Orleans and Rodgers managed to spread the ball around to eight players. Allen Lazard had a huge game with six receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown. Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis each added touchdowns as well.
Cris Collinsworth rightfully pointed out how Rodgers was not at all happy with the Love selection, even if he acted like it when asking about the topic. The best way for him to prove the team made the wrong move is to dominate and show that Love won’t be making his debut any time soon.
Rodgers has first-hand experience with this process and doesn’t want his Green Bay tenure to end by being pushed out. Playing at his current pace won’t just keep him in town. It may put him up for MVP consideration and also keep the Packers as Super Bowl favorites as the season goes on.
