Ravens rookie Devin Duvernay scores first kick return touchdown of 2020 and it was pretty fantastic

The Baltimore Ravens have bragging rights, as they earned the first kickoff return touchdown of the season.

Entering Week 3, NFL fans were excited to discover that the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens were going to do battle on Monday Night Football. Come on, it’s Patrick Mahomes versus Lamar Jackson! There’s no way it could get any more exciting right? Well it did.

In the second quarter, the Chiefs kicked the ball off to the Ravens after Mahomes threw an underhanded touchdown pass to fullback Anthony Sherman, giving them a 13-3 lead. Baltimore rookie Devin Duvernay received the kick from Harrison Butker, and used his ridiculous speed to take it 93-yards to the house, cutting the deficit to 13-10. Oh, and that was the first kick return touchdown of the 2020 NFL season.

This game features insane speed on both sides

The Ravens selected Duvernay in the third-round in this year’s NFL Draft. He’s best known for his speed, as evidenced by his 4.39 second 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine. In his final year with the Texas Longhorns, Duvernay recorded 106 receptions for 1,386 yards and nine touchdowns.

Perhaps what’s most interesting is that Duvernay never scored a return touchdown in college. Now, the rookie has bragging rights, because he scored on the defending Super Bowl Champions! Not a bad day at the office. Plus, this will send shivers down the spine of the opposition and give them a reminder for the future.

Don’t kick to Devin Duvernay.
