Falcons get good news on health of Julio Jones but bad news on Calvin Ridley

Julio Jones was limited in practice while Calvin Ridley was held out of practice as the Falcons deal with lingering injuries with their top two receivers.

The beginning of the 2020 NFL season has been a nightmare for the Atlanta Falcons. The team is 0-3 and has two epic collapses in the last two weeks.

Week 3 also saw the team go without Julio Jones as he dealt with a hamstring injury. Calvin Ridley picked up the slack with 110 receiving yards on 13 targets in the loss to the Chicago Bears. A Monday night matchup against the Green Bay Packers is next on the schedule as the Falcons look to save their season. News came out Thursday regarding Jones and Ridley that is both good and bad.

Falcons can’t catch a break in 2020

Getting Jones back is amazing news. As of now he is limited, but that is much better than not practicing at all. He has a great connection with Matt Ryan and had 157 yards on nine receptions in Week 1.

Unfortunately, the good news comes with the bad. Ridley is now out with an ankle injury after posting 349 yards and four touchdowns through the first three weeks of the season. It is only Thursday so fans and fantasy owners will surely be checking for updates on Ridley’s status.

The Falcons need everyone on the field to avoid an 0-4 start. The Packers are one of the best teams in all of football and should have no problem running up the score against a Falcons defense that has allowed at least 30 points in every game this season.
