The Saints and Colts are among the teams on upset alert in Week 4.

It is getting a bit easier to define what constitutes an upset as the NFL season moves along. We’re set to enter October in Week 4, giving us a month’s worth of action to judge which teams are contenders and which aren’t.

Staying focused on the task at hand each week will separate the pretenders from the contenders. Which teams need to keep their eyes on the prize or risk getting tripped up like Arizona did last Sunday? Read on to find out. All lines provided are courtesy of the FanDuel Sportsbook.

The New Orleans Saints need to be on upset alert in Detroit

There is something a bit off with the Saints this season and it has been noticeable since Michael Thomas got hurt in Week 1. Drew Brees has looked like he is past his prime and was exposed badly in a loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, one where New Orleans’ defense couldn’t hide the flaws of their aging legend.

With Thomas’ status uncertain for Week 4 the Saints will look to bounce back in Detroit against the 1-2 Lions. Detroit finally got on the board with a win in Arizona on Sunday but could easily be 3-0 if not for major collapses in the first two weeks of the season.

The Saints are favored by 4.5 points in this game but Detroit is certainly a dangerous foe for a team that enters the contest on a two-game skid. The Lions also have enough weapons to give the Saints fits so don’t be shocked if this game comes down to the wire.
