Chandler Jones chimes in after Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones’ Twitter spat
The rivalry between UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and former longtime UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones reached a new level over social media as of late. And now, Chandler Jones, Jon’s brother and a linebacker for the NFL‘s Arizona Cardinals, has chimed in on his own account.
Adesanya and Jon Jones have had quite the beef now, with Adesanya at times threatening that he would come up to light heavyweight to challenge Jon Jones and take the title he held at the time.

But things escalated in the aftermath of Adesanya successfully retaining the UFC middleweight championship against Paulo Costa at UFC 253. The two went after one another in a series of vicious tweets where the men insulted one another on a variety of subjects from their fighting performances to even bringing in religion and family.
And now, Chandler Jones decided to not let Adesanya go by without sending a short and simple caution to the UFC’s 185-pound champ.
UFC President Dana White caught wind of the Twitter war between the pair and told MMA reporters that he feels a fight in the Octagon between the two makes perfect sense for both men next.
Whether that fight actually happens or not, however, remains to be seen, as the two seemed to be heading in different directions.
Following his successful title defense at UFC 253, Adesanya said he was looking forward to defending against Jared Cannonier (or a rematch with Robert Whittaker should he beat Cannonier at UFC 254 later this month).
Jon Jones, after butting heads with the UFC earlier this year, vacated the light heavyweight title for a planned move to heavyweight.
Chandler Jones, meanwhile, will look to keep the 2-1 Cardinals’ good start to the 2020 season going on Sunday, Oct. 4, when they take on the Carolina Panthers.
