On Sunday, the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions will face off in a highly-anticipated showdown of the NFC squads.
Come Sunday afternoon, NFL fans will be treated to a great showdown between the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions. While it looked like this one was potentially going to get postponed because of a COVID-19 scare, that won’t be the case.
Indeed, the two NFC squads will be ready for battle, with Drew Brees looking to improve his team to 2-2. Will he be able to get the job done along with his Saints teammates?
Both the New Orleans Saints and Detroit Lions are 1-2 on the season heading into Sunday’s tilt
The New Orleans offense has been explosive, with Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara once again running the show. Brees has been efficient throwing the pigskin, posting 760 yards, six touchdowns and one interception on the year.
As for Kamara, he has reminded everyone of why he’s one of the best running backs in the game. The speedster will hurt you both on the ground and through the New Orleans aerial attack. In last week’s tough loss to the Packers, Kamara rushed for 58 yards, but added 13 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns. He’s brilliant at catching the ball and then making defenders look foolish in open space.
For the Lions, they earned their first win of the season in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. In that victory, veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns, while Adrian Peterson carried the ball 22 times for 75 yards.
This game figures to be a see-saw battle, with all eyes certainly on Brees, Kamara and Stafford leading up to the action. We’ll see who ends up coming out on top in this one.
