Buccaneers defensive lineman Vita Vea was carted off against the Bears with an ankle injury.
Nothing good can come of having someone land on your planted ankle. Buccaneers defensive tackle Vita Vea can certainly attest to that.
The third-year defensive tackle had to be carted off the field on Thursday night after his ankle was trapped under another player.
The video comes with a warning. It’s not for the faint of heart.
Vita Vea’s injury didn’t look good as the Buccaneers fell to the Bears
There’s no telling how much damage was done to Vea’s ankle, but the starter could face some significant time out if it felt as bad as it looked.
That’s a blow for the Buccaneers defense, especially after he showed his worth with three tackles and a sack against the Bears.
Combine Vea’s injury with the outcome of the game and it simply wasn’t a good night for Tampa Bay. The Bucs blew a 13-0 lead in the first half by giving up two touchdowns in the final two minutes of the half. The Bears went into the half leading 14-13, then the two teams traded field goals in the second half. Ultimately Cairo Santos’ 38-yarder with just over a minute to play gave the victory to Chicago.
