Chase Claypool reaching out to a struggling fan is awesome to see
Claypool revealed on his Twitter page that he saw the video of a Steelers fan who had posted the story of his father and his battle with dementia. The man’s father adores the Steelers, but his battle with dementia has caused him to forget the names of the players he loves so much.
Seeing this, Claypool wasted no time in getting a jersey, signing it and sending a special message to the elderly man. You know without a doubt that the family is 100% appreciative of the gesture from Claypool. Fans have taken to Twitter to thank the rookie wideout for his outstanding act.
Thus far in his first season with the Steelers, the 6-foot-4, 238-pound Claypool has hauled in 18 passes from Roethlisberger for 333 yards and four touchdowns. He’s also added 22 rushing yards and two additional scores.
With Pittsburgh holding a perfect 6-0 record, fans are dreaming of the team making a move for another Super Bowl title. It goes without saying, but Claypool will play a large role in whether or not the team is able to get that done. Regardless of how the rest of the season plays out, Claypool will surely have an excited family ready to support him the rest of the way, with a signed jersey being rocked with pride.
