The New Orleans Saints need to make some trades to keep up with Tampa Bay.
Mickey Loomis and the New Orleans Saints have some serious holes on this roster right now, but the waning seconds before the end of the trade deadline could be an ideal time to patch over those warts. After the Everson Griffen trade between Dallas and Detroit, expect a flurry of moves from contending teams like New Orleans in the coming hours.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are starting to separate from their division rivals, but the Saints could stay right with them if they make one of these moves.

The Jaguars might’ve won in Week 1, but they have made no bones about the fact that they aren’t expecting to win much in 2020. Having already traded anyone with the slightest bit of gravitas, Jacksonville might continue their teardown of the roster by getting rid of Cole. While he has had his moments this season, he has allowed DJ Chark and rookie Laviaska Shenault to leapfrog him on the depth chart. Always in need of perimeter playmakers, look for the Saints to potentially snap him up.
Michael Thomas is still one of the best in the game, but he’s been out for a good chunk of the season. With Emmanuel Sanders still on the COVID-19 list and Tre’Quan Smith failing to scare anyone as a No. 1 wideout, the Saints could add some depth behind Smith and ahead of stand0ins like Marquez Callaway and returner Deonte Harris. Cole’s speed will not be used vertically in New Orleans given Drew Brees’ arm, but he can get separation on shorter routes and make plays with the ball in his hands, which is as good of an excuse as any to bring him down to Louisiana.
