Nyheim Hines celebrated his touchdown for the Colts with a gymnastics move that had Simone Biles giving her approval.
Colts running back Nyheim Hines has himself a game on Sunday with two receiving touchdowns in Indianapolis’ win over the Detroit Lions.
His best highlight may have been his celebration after his 22-yard score early in the second quarter, which including an impressive gymnastics tumbling routine in full pads.
How good were the flips? They even got Olympic gold-winning gymnastics star Simone Biles’ attention.
That wasn’t even the only flip Hines pulled off on Sunday. Just before the end of the first half he caught another touchdown pass from Phillip Rivers for 29 yards and performed more acrobatics.
Simone Biles knows a great flip when she sees one
The praise couldn’t have come from a more accomplished judge. Biles won three individual gold medals at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro while also leading Team USA to a team gold. She is the most successful American gymnast of all time.
Hines is a year older than Biles, but he is still in the early stages of his pro career. He was drafted out of North Carolina State in 2018 and has started six games for the Colts over the last three seasons.
On Sunday, he had just eight years on five carries on the ground but led the Indianapolis passing attack with three catches for 54 yards and the aforementioned touchdowns.
With two receiving scores, Hines has now matched his career total.
The win over the Lions improved the Colts to 5-2 this season. They stand tied with the Titans for the AFC South lead.
Meanwhile, Detroit fell to 3-4. After two straight road wins over the Jaguars and the Falcons, their return to Ford Field was pretty disappointing.
