Andy Reid doesn’t care too much about your fantasy football team.
Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire is off to a great start during his rookie season. He has a great shot to reach 1,000 yards on the ground, but was unfortunately battling an illness all week.
That had his status for Sunday night’s game in question. The Chiefs decided to make him active for the game, which meant fantasy football owners may have kept him in their starting lineup. Too bad Andy Reid seems to be keeping the rookie on the sidelines behind Le’Veon Bell.

Bell got all the rushes in the first quarter and Edwards-Helaire may only come in if it is an absolute emergency.
This scenario is going to have plenty of people angry while looking at their fantasy lineups. But Reid and the Chiefs don’t care about that. Also, those with Edwards-Helaire on their fantasy roster should have taken the illness into account. Bell seemed poised to get nearly all the touches out of the backfield regardless given the rookie’s status throughout the week.
A player being active does not mean they are going to be at their usual status. A little bit of research goes a long way toward winning a fantasy football league.
Bell being signed changed the dynamic for the Chiefs on offense. Now it is possible to have Edwards-Helaire be active and not receive a single handoff. That is why the Chiefs are such an unstoppable team.
NFL players and coaches are not worried about your fantasy football team. It is always good to have contingency plans in place on a fantasy roster and those complaining about starting Edwards-Helaire will have to explain why they waited until Sunday night to see if he would even be active in the first place.
