This Rams team stat under Sean McVay will blow your mind

The Los Angeles Rams continue to do something pretty amazing under Sean McVay.

Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams are now 8-4 on the season, keeping an impressive streak alive.

Since McVay was hired by the Rams back in 2017, the Rams have never had a losing season, making the NFC playoffs two times in three chances. With another win or two, the Rams will be getting into the playoffs for the third time in four years. The crazy part in all of this is what happens when the Rams are leading at halftime under McVay: They do not lose those games.

Rams are now 33-0 all-time under Sean McVay when leading at halftime

Through 3.75 regular seasons, the Rams are 41-19 through 60 games under McVay. They have also gone 2-2 in four postseason games, including a Super Bowl 53 berth two years ago as NFC champions. For the Rams to be 33-0 in games in which they were leading at halftime, this clearly falls on coaching. When the Rams get a lead early in a ball game, they do not relinquish it.

Now for games where the Rams are either trailing or tied heading into the half, they are not nearly as good. They have an 8-19 record in those instances. Again, this is expected because sometimes when you do not have it, you do not have it. Playing from behind is never easy, but this is something the 30-something NFL head coach will have to continue to work on going forward.

Until his team blows a lead in the second half, McVay’s first-half track record will speak for itself.
